The following operations are supported on this resource:
Updates the characteristics of the specified samples. Rules for updating individual samples apply.
Direct identifiers should not be stored in custom fields:
Best laboratory practice is not to include direct identifiers such as names, initials, dates of birth, dates of service, etc.
in the sample sheet and instead use a code to track samples.
Customers who do not have the PHI package are not permitted to provide any identifying information.

| The information about the samples you want to update in the system, wrapped in a <details> parent. All request details must be valid sample XML representations. Mixed requests will result in an HTTP 400 error. Please refer to the POST documentation for samples (list) in the REST resources documentation for the sample XML representation and a description of what elements/attributes are necessary for updates. |
